The Wedding......and The Match Racing
We first met Bill and Carolyn in Portugal last summer when they anchored their Fountain Pajot catamaran, Juffa, next to us in Alvor Lagoon.
Two months later we sailed to Madeira not expecting to see them again. Not so, in November we met up again in Lanzarote. We sailed across the Atlantic together but they were 500 miles north of us for most of the crossing but we both experienced the same tough conditions. We met again in Prickly Bay, Grenada when they asked us to be witnesses at their wedding in St Georges's.
There aren't too many weddings that you go to in a dinghy.
We then walked up the hill to the courts for the ceremony. But before entering, some last minute dressing - a tie for the groom - was needed.
Afterwards we had a champagne breakfast in the Nutmeg Restuarant overlooking St Georges's harbour.
And then back to Juffa by dinghy
Last weekend we joined Juffa and crew from two super yachts (Sea Owl and Tilly Mint ) to compete in the Grenada Regatta organised by Le Phare Bleu Marina. We entered the match racing which was done in two Sunsail 41.3 monhulls. We used Juffa as our team base to watch our competitors.
Out of 12 teams, we progressed through to the semi-finals where we blew the start but were chuffed to have come 3rd. We celebrated on the floating party barge with a few bears.
and a few more beers.
Today we found this little fella in our fridge in the lettuce bag.
After a minute or so he warmed up and started to hop about, making a break for it. We eventually managed to get him back in a jug and took him ashore to release him in some marshy grass. Good luck hoppa......and we are glad that you didn't end up in our sandwich.
